Seasonal celebrations are wonderful opportunities to bring curiosity, imagination, and problem-solving into learning. Instead of simply decorating the classroom in green, we can transform the day into a moment where students explore language, ideas, and creativity.

This article presents five simple creative writing exercises designed to help English learners improve their writing skills. Through reflections, descriptions, dialogues, storytelling, and “what if” scenarios, learners can practice vocabulary, sentence structure, and self-expression. The exercises encourage consistent practice and help transform passive language knowledge into active communication.

This text explores the hollowing out of the teacher as an intellectual and its consequences for how knowledge is understood in education. When teachers are reduced to curriculum executors or behavior managers, their cognitive leadership erodes and students learn that knowledge exists elsewhere. Reclaiming teaching as an intellectual practice is an ethical and professional stance against a system that disauthorizes teachers’ thinking.
